As a response to violent upheaval and deteriorating situation in Syria, on March 29, 2012 USCIS announced that eligible US-based Syrian nationals and persons without nationality who last habitually resided in Syria may apply for Temporary Protected Status (TPS). TPS designation would allow eligible Syrians in the US to lawfully stay and work in the US for a period of 18 months. Syrians in the US must act fast: they are only given 180 days until September 25, 2012 to submit their applications for TPS and employment authorization.
To be eligible for TPS, you must be a national of Syria or a person without nationality who last habitually resided in Syria and have continuously resided in the U.S. since March 29, 2012. All applicants for TPS will undergo a thorough security check.
Since Syrians only have 180 days to apply for TPS, they must act fast. We’ve successfully represented nationals of El Salvador and Haiti in their TPS applicants and are looking forward to receiving calls at (212) 213-8275 and inquiries from Syrian applicants.
